Mercury In Retrograde
Three times a year, an optical illusion occurs during which the planet Mercury appears to travel backward across the sky. This period is referred to as Mercury Retrograde. Because mercury is known as the communication planet in astrology, astrologists warn of the potential effects this can have on us and all of our relationships. Miscommunication, major shifts in mood, and technology issues are also commonly attributed to mercury retrograde. I'm a textbook Gemini. It's scary how accurately Gemini personality traits align with the depths of my soul. I always feel like I'm standing on a stage naked every time I read my horoscope. How do the stars know everything about me? Sadly, because Gemini is one of only two star signs (Virgo and Gemini) ruled by Mercury, September 9th - October 2nd, is considered an American Ninja Warrior obstacle course of emotions for those who fall within those star signs.
I try to live my life based on facts that have verified cause and effect, and I don't put too much weight into things that can't be proven scientifically to be real, but boy, have I felt this retrograde. Could it be my new lower dose of lexapro? Or am I actually being affected by an illusion in the sky? It's hard to say. Nonetheless, I will not be making any life-altering decisions between now and October 2nd just to be safe. I'm not telling you all of this to add some sort of paranoia to everything you are likely already dealing with. But merely to say that if you have not been feeling like yourself the last few weeks, maybe the planets will help you shake it off in approximately seven days.
Take it all with a grain of salt, internet advice, astrological readings, and doomsday predictions. If you look too far into any of it, you will lose your mind. I don't get my palms read because I don't want to know my entire future ahead of time, and I'm not sure it's all so mapped out anyway. But if I spill some salt on the counter, you better believe I'm throwing some over my shoulder just in case. And you won't catch me putting my purse on the floor, either. It's all about balance.
As a cancer survivor and amputee, I've lived enough to know that proceeding with caution is wise, but being afraid of everything is never the answer; It's no way to live. So read your horoscope, or don't. Do choose happiness whenever possible, regardless of wherever the heck mercury appears to be at the moment.
